The idea
A small building with one job: extend the usable day. The pavilion sits at the far end of a new lap pool, faces back at the house, and is open on three sides — so the last hour of light, which the main house never got, lands here instead.
Siting
The pool runs on the long axis of the garden rather than across it, which keeps the lawn in one piece and gives the pavilion something to sit at the end of. Its position was set by shadow studies, not by symmetry — three metres further north and it loses the evening entirely.

Structure
Four columns and a flat roof, with the services buried in the one solid wall at the back. Nothing else is structural, which is why the three open sides can be genuinely open rather than open with a post in the middle of the view.
